What is Hospice Care?

Hospice Care is the care and attention that are offered primarily to patients with terminal illnesses, in order to alleviate the symptoms of a terminal illness in such patients. The attention and care given to hospice care address physical, emotional, spiritual and social issues. This concept of palliative care has evolved in Western culture since the 11th century. A Little History of Hospice Care

It has come to evolve into a professional system that serves nearly 1.5 million people receiving palliative care. Thus Hospice Care is a service that delivers pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, serving all hours every day of the year. Hospice Care is covered by Medicaid and most private insurers to contemplate. At present, most of the palliative care of Hospice Care are delivered to the patient's home terminal, but there are also available to hospices, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior centers, hospitals and prisons.
